SafeHaven Standards and Post Orders
Instructor Sele: You are now almost ready for the field. This final module covers the specific standards, documents, and expectations that make you a SafeHaven professional — not just a guard.
Section 1 — What Are Post Orders?
Post orders are the single most important document at your post — a written, signed agreement between SafeHaven and your client that defines your duties, hours, access procedures, emergency procedures, escalation contacts, and any special client requirements. You must read and sign your post orders before your first shift. If anything is unclear, ask your supervisor.
Section 2 — Shift Handover
A professional shift handover is non-negotiable. Before leaving your post: brief the incoming guard on all events; transfer all equipment (radio, keys, access cards, logbooks); ensure the incoming guard signs the handover log; report any unresolved matters.
Section 3 — The SafeHaven 10 Standards
All SafeHaven guards are evaluated against: (1) On time, every time; (2) Uniform complete and correct; (3) Post orders read and signed before first shift; (4) DOL maintained throughout the shift; (5) All incidents reported within 30 minutes; (6) Radio carried and operational on patrol; (7) No personal phone use except on break; (8) Visitor and vehicle logs completed for every entry and exit; (9) Zero acceptance of gifts, tips, or bribes; (10) Full shift handover completed before departure.
